Last week, I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day by showing myself some love. I did more gentle movement than I usually make time for, I ate really well, and I meditated. In my meditation I started to think about compassion; we often show compassion to our loved ones when they're in need, but when was the last time we gave ourselves the same compassion we show others? I decided to write myself a love letter and to address it to chronic pain; it's one of my greatest teachers in this life.
Then, I thought: how can I get this in front of more people who need to be reminded of self-compassion? So I submitted it for publication. My article was published by Elephant Journal, a digital news site that specializes in mindfulness and healing subjects.
